The Design Activism Research Hub (DARH) had their inaugural show at LCC this week, the group (including GMDs Sïan Cook) aims to investigate the graphic design codes and visual communication conventions that communicate ideological positions and support social and political activism.

While situating activist visual communication within a social, cultural and historical framework, the group also seeks to identify and reveal contemporary practices related to the use of new technologies and modes of communication as well as more traditional forms of protest and street graphics, banners, posters, pamphlets and flyers. The group is based within the School of Design at London College of Communication (LCC) and is open to all UAL staff and students with an interest in the field.
